I hope you have all had the opportunity to relax and recharge as we prepare for the beginning of the 2017-2018 school year. As always, the beginning of each new school year is a time filled with great anticipation of what is to come. This year, thanks to the generous support of our local community, we are excited to welcome everyone back to newly renovated classrooms throughout the district, two new buses, and an air-conditioned gym. While the timeline to complete the projects has been tight, we are completing the final touches, as we prepare to welcome our students on Monday, August 21.
It continues to be an honor and privilege to serve as superintendent of such an outstanding school district in a great and supportive community. At Fayetteville ISD we are committed to providing each and every student an opportunity to Achieve Excellence. I firming believe that achieving excellence can only happen through the Pursuit of Perfection! We will continue to challenge our students to be their very best. With the support of their parents/guardians, teachers, administrators, friends, and family, I am confident that our students will continue to rise to new heights. Once again, it is important to understand that Achieving Excellence can only happen by choice, not by chance. It is not the result of a single event or decision that defines excellence, but rather it is the totality of our daily decisions and actions.
Our goal is to be the best in everything we do at FISD. While we have accomplished so much this past year, I believe we are just beginning our ascent to the levels of greatness that await our Lion Pride. As our students begin this new and challenging quest, I ask that you join us in supporting them educationally, socially, and emotionally each step of the way. For all who choose to wear the Lion colors, we must remember that together everyone achieves more!
We are excited to continue many of the great traditions established here at Fayetteville ISD. Therefore, we would like to invite everyone to our “Open House” on August 17, 2017 at 6:30 pm. In addition, this year we would like to invite parents/guardians of 5th grade students to meet in the cafeteria at 6:00pm to discuss their student’s move to secondary classes.
I hope you enjoy the remaining days of summer. I look forward to working with each of you to make the 2017 – 2018 school year the best ever.
